The construction of the villa began in 1593. The monumental complex of Villa Selvatico also boasts a rich history, having been for four centuries the residence of noble families and also of the King of Italy during the First World War, and of many famous guests.
The building is located on a large trachyte paved terrace and enclosed by a balustrade of the same stone. The main façade has a double staircase leading to the first floor. The interior of the main floor and the second floor is strictly organized around the central hall of a Greek cross.
The building of considerable value consists of two bodies: the ancient one dating from around 1000 and the second one built by Alvise Selvatico in 1596.
The park, with exotic trees, and the characteristic path of water, with the five thermal lakes that were designed by Giuseppe Jappelli, a well-known architect, in 1818.
